The below are the results from the stadium survey which was run from 6th November to 21st November.
Over 21,000 fans have voiced their opinion on their views of the plans for Old Trafford with respect to redevelopment or a rebuild of a new stadium.
Survey Questions Rationale:
- The survey was intentionally kept simple and structured to reduce ambiguity to gauge fan sentiment for either option. This was the sole purpose.
- This was achieved by posing direct questions.
- Something the club did not do was add context around the rebuild option. Example through increased ticket prices, a reduction in atmosphere or heritage of the ground and other options which will need to be considered.
Results:
You can you see the results and determine your own conclusions below. However, it is clear that.
- Opinion is very much an equal split between either option and mirrors the clubs own survey. It is not a conclusive swing for either option.
- It shows fans would support a new stadium but NOT at the expense of ticket price hikes, a dilution of atmosphere (for example a heavy corporate allocation) and a decay of club heritage.
Should the decision be for a rebuild of a new stadium we will be fighting for everything that is important for generational fans and communities.
We wanted a truly independant opinion on this emotive subject. Even if the results replicate the clubs survey. It’s clear we have to make sure the club don’t subsidise paying for the stadium by raising prices for loyal supporters and at the detriment of atmosphere and heritage.
We will fiercely campaign for these three key points.
We will be sharing and discussing these results along with some of the 1000s of comments with the club.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to complete the survey.
